Statement of purpose

Our purpose is to:


  • encourage individuals to improve the quality of their lives
  • encourage individuals to improve the quality of their relationships with others
  • encourage individuals to take responsibility for their own lives
  • encourage individuals to take responsibility for their own communities/society
  • promote freedom, equality and cooperation in all that we do

Our vision is to:


  • create a free resource to assist individuals with their own self-awareness and self-care, personal development and psychological education
  • help to demystify the wonderful and frightening world that makes up our own inner workings
  • turn complicated insights and concepts into bite-sized nuggets of practical wisdom
  • reduce distress and improve the life satisfaction levels of our communities, one person at a time
  • make self-awareness an everyday, easily assessible and acceptable pursuit
  • bring self-awareness workshops into mainstream consciousness, alongside weight-loss classes, yoga, adult learning, AA meetings, among others.
  • campaign for greater self-care and self-awareness in all areas of public and private life, e.g. education, health, work, social and care service, home
  • encourage our society to move away from a prescriptive, pharmaceutical, coercive and blaming approach to matters of the head and heart
  • reduce the stigma of distress by using a different approach and terminology to that of the medical model
