Ancient woodland

This innate urge finds us driven to nature, where there’s an abundance of life for the senses to feast on. Could this explain shinrin yoku, or forest bathing? This is the Japanese experience of being quiet and calm among trees. And what about our fascination with ancient woodland? Could this be the merging of a love of things living with a need to be connected to the past?
