Re-learning & repetition

People in counselling often need to revisit themes over and over again, until they’ve made sense of the information in front of them, until they’ve gathered all the information they need. Information comes in many forms, and to understand how it all comes together requires a lot of focus time and spinning plates, a lot of talking and working out, going over the same ground time and again until the penny drops or until the process is complete and an insight can be formed.

Sometimes learning, outside of counselling, requires the same repetitive process. There’s nothing wrong with exploring a theme until you’ve run out of things to say. Because some information is too important to forget, avoid or leave unattended for too long.
